I purchased a HJC Sy Max II modular helmet for cold weather riding...it has the internal flip down sun visor and the latches for the front are stainless steel. Feels sturdy and the wind noise isn't bad.

I'm happy with it...the flip down sun visor needs to be a bit darker tint though.

Good modulars are good (Schoei, Noilan, Scorpion 900, Caberg, Scuberth, etc.) but the HD-branded ones (HJC) are crap.

My wife and I got some when we bought our Harleys. Comfortable and convenient, if not wind-noisy.

One day, my wife had her helmet resting on the seat of her Heritage in the driveway (a no-no, I know), and it rolled off. OK, we are talking about the distance from the seat of a Heritage to the driveway, with a starting velocity and momentum of 0. OK?

When it hit the driveway, the whole faceplate popped off at the hinges! We looked at each other: she gasped, I gulped.

30 minutes later we were the proud new owners of Arai full-faces. (Full-face helmets are *much* quieter, too.)

Then we went for our ride.

for what it is worth..this is kinda of a neat link..sharp helmet study.
they give star ratings for different helmets BUT sometimes the stars do not match % of time unlatched.
The HARLEY modular that i have seen with the printed warning is a "KBC"

lots of modular helmets but it seems difficult to find a good one with reasonable features at a reasonable price.
Light weight
Low noise
Removable liner-nice to wash the sweat out
Good rating in the sharp helmet study
Good air flow/ not hot
A good visor
Good flip system
Looks good.

The sharp helmet study doesn't have the newer modular helmets included...this is a link for the "new" HJC Sy Max II helmet.

It got a good review on this site.
