Default Soft vs. hard lowers on a Road Glide

For anyone who has gone from soft lowers to hard lowers. Do the soft lowers give the same or pretty close to the same effect as hard lowers??? I'd like to get hard lowers but I am undecided on which ones I want to go with. And a tour pak is a priority right now anyway. So if I can get away with softys for now I'll do it.

Because the hard lowers rise several inches above the engine guards they're going to give you more wind protection. But the soft lowers also do a pretty darn good job of reducing buffeting/shielding your feet and are a bargain at 1/10th the price!

If you go with the hard lowers, spend the extra bucks for the vented.

Soft lowers are great over having nothing, however the hard lowers are the way to go.

I find the hard lowers a necessity on the roadglide to control the buffeting. I plan to change over to the vented ones once i get the newer style fairing brackets. The early roadglide lowers are pretty hot in the summer.

I didn't know you could get vented hard lowers. Who makes them?

I agree, you don't get glove boxes anyway with the HD Roadglide lowers so why spend the extra dollars? Get the Hog Chopps!

My 04 has lowers with glove boxes. Another thing to remember is HD say you should not use the soft lowers in temps over 50 f
