Default Mounting new guardian bell

Just wondering; how and where do y'all mount your guardian bell? I have an 09 Ultra and I'm not quite sure where to mount it. My last bell was mounted on the downtubes with a black zip tie, but I wanted to mount my new ones lower (I had two different friends buy me two bells).

I put mine between the metal piece between the front two down tubes. There was already a hole there, so I just zip tied it there, and looks great. My little next door neighbor bought me mine, as he'll be a future Harley rider!

That's exactly where my old one was. I think it's because it's easier to use.

I have my bell hanging from the right side forward footboard bracket with a piece of leather bootlace. If your bell is on a key ring, I would remove it. With metal to metal contact, the loop of the bell will wear through and you will loose the bell.

I put mine in the same place. I used a 3" peice of chain that I made from what was left over from the wallet chain I made out of "choke chain" for dogs.

+1....and don't wrong about a metal ring holding it on causing it wear and fall off. That is not very likely actually as there just isn't enough tight pressure/resistance there to cause that.

I had a cross mounted to my footboard on my old bike but it would clang around and make a racket. I suppose the guardian bells are heavy enough they don't fly around like that and make racket.

No clanging or banging around but it does tingle when I lean it over occassionally.

Default Where NOT to install guardian bell

I recommend NOT installing the bell on the fork tube just above the fender. That is where I had mine until I hit a pothole hard and dented the top of my fender. The suspension came up that far causing the fender to hit the bell.
I know I should avoid hitting potholes but sometimes ***** happens.
