My wife and I drank another couple hundred miles of Road Glide Kool-Aid today on a glorious fall afternoon in central Oregon. And I gotta say, now with about 1600 miles on this amazing machine, the RG cool-aid is the sweetest, most addicting motorcycle concoction I've ever partaken of! This kool aid is sa-weeeet!

Today is October 20, 2009. I took delivery of my 2009 FLTR on August 22, 2009. It replaced my 98 Ultra. I have about 7800 miles on it.

What a difference there is! More power and it has not been changed... yet. Stock motor and exhaust. I have only changed the look.

I am so pleased with the Road Glide.

The guy said the ride sucked..................and blamed it on the shocks, just barely mentioning the seat. WE ALL KNOW THE STOCK STREET GLIDE SEAT SUCKS. So is it the 12" shocks or the seat? I'd say it's mainly the seat.

I am considering going to the 13" Ultra shocks though.

I'd say it's the stock seat. But who actually stays with the stock seats anyway when they are so inferior to aftermarket seats? As for the shocks, I guess if the load is heavy and the roads are bad, 13" shocks would be a good swap to make. But so far, I'm loving the 2010 FLTRX with Mustang seats and 12" shocks. Like so many things about Harleys, if some aspect of some part of the bike doesn't suit you well, swap it out for something you like better. No point in throwin' the baby out with the bath water!

This is one fine motorcycle indeed. I even think it has plenty of power... gives me some pause about going with the 103 kit I had originally planned on doing "just because". I've ordered the kit from LSHD and D&D Fat Cat 2-into-1 complete exhaust for mine, well, "just because". It will be nice to have more low end torque and more oomph, but the bike doesn't really "need" it like the older 88's seemed to. I popped the 95" kit in both my '04 Road King Custom and my '04 Lowrider, so I just figured I'd bump the new one up to 103 for the heck of it.

My point was, that was what the writer of the article was riding. He said the ride sucked on this bike because it was a slammed Hot Rod style. Yet he never mentioned getting a btter seat. He kept going on and on about how Hot Rod cars ride sucked and this is a Hot Rod bike, so it sucks just like the slammed cars do.

That was my point.

Yeah... I agree with you. Few reviewers who are critical of something actually mention that what they are complaining about is often easily changed. I just read a review of an STI 2011 handgun where the reviewer marked the gun down because of the feel of the magwell extension in his hand... but he failed to mention that the extension is easily removed making for a much easier to handle gun. Reviews often need to be read between the lines.

Don, you know that bike rides like crap. Just like mine after I put the lowering shocks on it. It's a bumpy, fugly waste of money so just quit it already and live with your choice!
