Help with HD heated gear
I only use the two outer most ports. If I had removed the controller connections, the basic jacket has two which extend out and one recessed. The white one is for the jacket if I remember correctly and the middle one for the gloves. The third port is for the pants and is recessed so would take a male connector.
So since you don't have the controller, you may need to plug in to the one on the right for the jacket and the one in the middle to power the gloves.
If you don't have the duel controller I would highly recomend getting one. With the duel controller you connect to your power outlet then you have 2 wires that will connect to the jacket liner and gloves. So you can control the temps for each. Once you have the jacket connected up you can connect your gloves to the connectors on the sleeves and the pants liner to the accessory connector.
Gerbing's Power Distribution Unit (PDU) both simplifies plug connection and eliminates any dangling cords. The PDU is a soft rubberized plastic component sewn mounted onto the inside lining of the heated garment, in this example, a heated jacket liner. The PDU houses the main power plug that distributes power to the GHC High Density Heat panels strategically placed throughout the garment.
The first plug coming out of the Jacket PDU is the power cord, which connects to your On/Off switch or Temp Controller. The On/Off switch or Temp Controller then connects to your power source.
The third port for this Jacket PDU is for accessories. This port will power your pants or insoles. If you are wearing Gerbing's pants without a jacket, then connect the pants cord directly to a Gerbing's on/off switch or Temp controller.
The middle plug of the Jacket PDU will power your gloves separately from your jacket. The gloves connect to the plugs at the jacket sleeves. Or, if the gloves are worn without a jacket, connect to the provided connecting harness.
For a Vest Liner, the plug coming out of the PDU is for connecting to power. The other two plugs are for connecting to heated pants and/or a 3 prong-harness for connecting to heated insoles or gloves.
