I'm glad to see other guys wanting to tackle projects themselves. Good luck! There's nothing better than being able to say that you did it yourself.

Default fairing

i bought a wide open custom fairing last year at the lone star rally last year. i paid 799 for it and had to install the radio and speakers myself. with four speakers it it has all the volume i need plus more. no complaints. i have a 07 road king with heritage bars and it fits perfect

Watch out for that Chinese built crap, I bought a Tusyku last winter and thought it looked like the best thing since cut bread till I road it and found all the rattles and it flopped back and forth because it was just a cheap *** biult piece of crap.
I bought a WOODY'S (w/o radio) fairing and it works great, fit's good, and does everything it's advertised to do.
I found that there enough distractions to start with riding a bike and with a stereo blairing in your face just adds to it.

Anyone know if any of the aftermarket fairing manufacturers offer one with speakers, an amp and an ipod jack instead of a stereo?

I haven't seen one like that. I have seen some without any stereo at all. I would imagine you can add your own speakers, amp and ipod jack for pretty cheap. Most aftermarket radios have ipod jacks on the front, so it probably would be about the same money or cheaper just to get a stereo that has that option. That way you would get the am/fm/cd capability too.

Thanks for the reply. I noticed the latest Yamaha Roadstar has a fairing set up this way, maybe one of the aftermarket makers will take notice and offer a similar option for those who want to spend less and keep the looks simple or mount gauges in that space.

I have one of woody's fairings in the shop now, working on audio packages and speakers for him. I can tell you after working on woody's it is top notch, the fit and finish are the best I have seen. If anyone has any questions feel free to give me a call.

Well, my fairing showed up this week. I bought one off of ebay for $287.50 shipped. I got it on the bike today and just got done with a test ride. I have to say that it needs a little fine tuning, but overall, I really like it. It took a little modification to make it fit correctly (mostly from my handlebar setup), but it wasn't a big deal at all. It's going to need some prep work and paint, but I thoroughly expected that. Sorry, I don't have any pics yet, but I'll post some soon. So far, it's well worth the money!!!
