Who cares what anyone else thinks. It's what you think. If you a have to carry stuff and only have a back pack do it up. Personally, I have a pink hello kitty backpack. I think it makes me look even cooler.
+1 I never rode a Harley or any other bike to win friends and influence people. If I have a backpack on my back, it's my choice.
Good grief! There are a lot more backpackers on this forum thread than I see on the road.
No problem with riding the way you want with respect to backpacks, but y'all have to admit, there exists a "Harley Image". In this same Dyna Forum, there were some negative comments about changing my Street Bob seat for a Mustang Wide Vintage because it wouldn't look right, or something like that. But I did it anyhow because it works for me, especially on a 500 mile day trip. I still keep the original "Butt Bruiser" seat so I can have an "authentic" Street Bob after a 30 second seat swap.
Personally, I don't do backpacks unless I'm hiking.
I would wear one, empty, if i thought I might get something I need to carry back home, or if i was going on a trip to visit the folks or something, as i don't have any bags.
I have been playing with the idea of getting a suction cup stick on P-Pad and a black bungee cord setup that would scratch anything. As it is right now, I couldn't carry a T-shirt without a backpack.
The Harley Backpack gives me a good idea. I have a black backpack....sew on a harley patch, and now it matches.
The spongebob idea is just silly.
