Hey, just want to know if anyone has done a swap of the stock ECM to the S&S VFI system, I am heavily leaning towards it and the closed loop system. If anyone has done this, what were the results, or if anyone knows anyone who has done it, I guess I am just looking for some feedback here if anyone has any.....
Havn't heard alot of info about it but it caught my attention a little while back before I finally got my efi dialed in.
Member 1997Hawg put it on his and had good words towards it, maybe he will chime in.
hey bagger thanks, I searched and cannot find 1997hawg, but I am sure something will come of this....lol. I have had next to no luck getting my MM system to dial in, I have installed a Thundermax system on my bro-in-laws Dyna, it made a HUGE difference, the tunability is unmatched, all thanks to the closed loop system... That is why I want to try the S&S system as they also have a closed loop system for that year(98), but Thundermax does not......once again, thanks for your help, may see you out there one day....you just never know.
I purchased a Daytona Wego 3 tuning system ($275) and a used PC3 ($50) and got my stroked Evo running well and gets better MPG than the lighter stock twinkie I ride with. Just an idea if you are a DIY and eliminates need to trust someone else with your bike with this tuning system.
I had an '01 twin Cam Ultra with the Marelli injection. Could never get that bike dialed in either. An indy shop tried to swap in the S&S unit but wasn't able to get it mapped well at all. Ended up pulling it and going back to the MM unit. I sold the bike the next year. That was several years ago and I'm sure S&S has made some progress since the, but I didn't have any luck with it.
holy crap bagger, you werent kidding about that, 2 grand for a MM replacement system is a little steep....but being that it is from Zippers, I bet it would work well, but it is still not closed loop though....I am still looking all over for info on the S&S closed loop system....doesnt look like many people have tried it...hmmmm???
