there were some isolated crank problems with the 07s, I had a 07 SG put 22,000 miles on it did rolling burnouts, wheelies, got it sideways as often as I could---not one problem.

The IMHO the 07 is the best to mod, no TBW issues, 6speed and 96 -- plus the narrower frame (compared to 09/10) makes it easier to do slow speed and parking lot manuvers

I have nothing negative to say other than the heat issue which can be remedied fairly easily. Mine has performed well and I am very satisfied with my decision after 30,000+ miles.

My suggestion to you is if you love the bike, and it fits your budget, just get it. What one person considers a problem , another might not worry too much about it. There is no such thing as a perfect bike, everyone has their opinion on motorcycles but at the end of the day it's you that rides it and what everybody else thinks doesn't really matter.

(BTW I had an 07 Street glide and it was one of the best bikes I owned. Just sold it and bought an 09 for no other reason than it was a good deal)

Good Luck and try not to lose too much sleep over this.

I have a 99 RKC, the guy I bought it from has an 07, the other day we went for a ride, he wanted to see how my fairing was so we traded bikes for the ride, I listened close to see if I could hear the 5 gear wine, just barly...maybe, my bike has had a stage 1 done on it not sure if anything else, but there is a definate power difference I could pull away with his bike, impressive, he hasn't done a thing to the bike in the wahy of aftermarket, I love my bike, but I think the 07s rock.

I've often thought the same thing about the 07 is the best year to own.

Mine has the same revolving problem ever since I purchased it a year ago... It continues to melt the back tire off. But the only complaining comes from my wallet. But seriously, its a great bike. It ran lean when i got it (stock) fixed after intake, pipe, and pc3. Dunno if i will ever get rid of it, not a fan of all the new upgrades, tank, new frame, tbw.
