Consider this:
If someone gets your bank card and pin, or your bank account number and login credentials, then proceeds to steal your money, the bank is under no obligation to reimburse you. It's totally your responsibility to keep those numbers secret.
On the other hand, a CC company will not come after you for any fraudulant charges on your CC, as long as they are not your charges. You have to sign an afidavit to that effect.
Now you decide. The choice is yours. Do you use paypal, where you have given them authorization to access your bank account for payments, or do you use your CC??
For me, it's a no brainer. I use my CC.
To answer someone elses concern about the CC company cancelling your card and you have to wait several weeks for a new one. This is true. The answer, you need a back up card, keep it in your sock drawer at home for such an occasion. By that I mean If you use Visa, get an Amex and keep it tucked away until you need it.

The reason for this post is to let members know of an incident I had after ordering parts from d2moto.com.
On Monday I find a thread in the softail forum about spike air intakes (https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...ions-ebay.html), and decide after reading it to order one off of the d2moto.com website. I go thru the order process using my Bank of America Visa (the order process page HAS the 'secure' logo) and sit back waiting on my new goody.
On Tuesday afternoon, I find an email from Bank of America advising me of possible fraudulent charges to my CC. So I logged into my acct, and sure as hell, there are 3 pending charges to "Gamecard Hanoi" and 1 pending charge to a gas station in California (I'm in Atlanta). So I called BoA's fraud department to have my CC killed and the charges removed. They were great about the whole thing and took care of it with NO cost to me.
I then called d2moto to advise them that their files may have been compromised and was told by 'Victoria' that she would let the owner know ASAP.
The last legitimate activity on my card was 10/7/09, and I did the swipe so I know the card wasn't cloned out of my sight. That's my story...I'm stickin to it. Anyone else have this happen after ordering from d2moto.com?

The credit industry is a multi-billion dollar industry, and when they have an issue of fraudulent charges, it is less costly to write it off than to persue it. The cost of chasing down every individual theft is usually more than what they can recoupe from the offenders, if they are caught. The CC company will ask you if you are willing to press charges, when and if the culprit is caught, merely to test your willingness than to actually use your testimony.
i just use them pre paid master card/visa gift cards, buy one for $50 or $100 place my order and even if the card inf ois comprimised as long as my intial purchase goes through , oh well they arnt refillable s othey jus tget thrown away afterwards LOL, no worrys at all

The CC companies got nothing back. It cost them a lot to prosecute that dude. But it's cases like that I suppose that would deter other from similar crime. I don't know. They have a lot of money to chase punks and I think it's in their interest to chase them all, cost be dammed. Otherwise it would be a free-for-all.

I had that happen to me through Bike Bandit.Had all kinds of charges from Amsterdam,Turkey.CC company took care of it,even notified me,asked me if I was travelling out of the country.
