Biketoberfest Shipping Disaster
So, I had to ship my bike to Daytona, because I just can't get enough days away from work to drive down from Brooklyn.
My shipper was supposed to be here on Monday, when I booked the shipment they were awesome. I heard from them 10 or more times going back and forth w/ email. Since booking they've been a lot harder to reach...
They were supposed to be here on Monday and didn't show. Then I got a call explaining that they had a blackberry issue and lost my phone # and email and would be here on Tuesday.
Tuesday they had another delay with no real explanation.
Today they guaranteed they would be here between 10-2 EST, called at 2:30 and was told GPS says I'm an hour away.
It's now 5:10 and all 3 of their #'s are going right to VM and the mailbox is full....
Is it worth the trip without my bike, because at this point I don't think I'd give it to them anyhow? I feel like I'd spend the whole time agitated about being at biketoberfest without my bike...

I would rent a bike if you really need a bike there that bad, or just go without one. If all the rentals are taken in that area, you could look around in the southeast, rent one, and ride in.
Just my thoughts, but I would certainly not give my bike to them.
Cancel - which frankly is the way I'm leaning, I planned the trip out really well (something I rarely do), but it's hard to overcome not having my bike. The whole reason I wanted to go was for some fun riding with like minded folks.
Go as planned - Fly down without the bike and just turn it into 4 days on the beach in Daytona.
Rent a truck and drive down Friday - I was planning to take Friday and Monday off, to be down there for 4 days, but I could leave late Thursday, stay in DC with my aunt, have dinner with family, and then drive Friday and arrive by dinner time, of course this means I have to drive straight through on Monday on the way home, so I lose Friday and Monday in Daytona.
If I cancel I lose most of my non-refundable flights and at least 1 night of hotel, so that's not the best either. My girlfriend has been looking forward to the trip for at least a month as well.
There's just no good option at this point.
I'm giving the shipper until 8 EST to call me before I post the name and totally throw them under the bus, but I'll go postal and do anything I can to make sure nobody uses them if I don't hear something by then.
