Default 07 FXDC Fork Tube Caps - Size?

Was able to squeeze in enough time today to install my new chrome sliders but haven't refilled the tubes with fork oil yet. Mainly because none of my sockets fit. My 1 1/2" socket is too big and the next size down in my set is too small. Anyone know the size? I'd prefer to do this with a socket wrench so I can keep pressure on the cap so it doesn't go flying when it comes loose. I also don't want to try to wrench it with pliers or something adjustable because I don't want to scratch the caps. If I know the socket size, I will go buy one. I don't see any mention of the actual size in the service manual.

Otherwise, does anyone have a method they could recommend for going about this with different tools but without a second pair of hands? I am planning on covering my tins to keep something from getting away and scratching or denting them.

Try 36mm.Everything to do with the forks is metric as they are Showa forks.

If you don't have metric that big, 1 3/8" should work.

it's 35mm...not 36mm. 1 3/8"

Figures I'd see this 5 minutes after getting back from going to 3 different stores before I finally found a 36mm socket and had to buy a 1/2" to 3/4" drive adapter as well. The good news is, the 36mm was close enough to get the caps broken loose. But I could tell there was a little too much play. Going out in a bit to finish this job.

Thanks all.
