I figure nobody is going to assume you have a RS siren and won't cut the wire thinking it is standard HD, and even if they knew it they likely wouldn't know it has no power backup. At any rate you still have the ignition lock feature, so if they cut the wire you aren't any worse off than without the siren.

Default Radio Shack Alarm

Well I went to the dealer here in Chilliwack BC and asked about the siren. The nice guy at the parts desk said it would be $120.00 plus a lot of tax.

I rode down to the Radio Shack in Lynden Wa. The Radio Shacks in Canada have all been closed. There I got the part for $5.99. On the way home I picked up a soldering iron at Canadian Tire for $14.99 plus a lot of tax.

Once home I fished out a paper clip from the bottom of a drawer. I soldered a short bit of paper clip to each of the two wires on the siren. Read the instructions for the 2008 Ultra and they worked perfectly on my 2009 Road King.

Big saving. Works great.

I have the Radio Shack siren on my Ultra...After I had installed it I wondered to myself if there was any reason you couldn't use the siren out of an old smoke detector....Maybe I'll pick one up at the Thrift store for $1 and add it as a second siren...

I mounted two RS sirens up under my fairing cap on my 07 Ultra. They are a lot louder there. I secured them with silicone adhesive, and used spade connectors, to make removal of the cap easier.
