Cheap cold hand solution???
Now that us "Northern Folks" are getting some colder weather, I'm wondering if anyone has ever tried a snowmobile type hand grip muffs for keeping hands warmer, as a cheaper alternative to installing expensive and apparantly unreliable hand warmers?? They can come on/off quite easily so they could be kept in saddlebags when not in use, and would also be good for keeping hands dry on the wet days. I'm waiting for my local sled shop to get some more in, so I can try a set, but was just wondering if anyone has already had any experience. The logic seems good??

never tried the muff's. I went with heated gloves which work pretty good.
kept me riding longer for sure. although heated gear is extra work for sure
wind protection is key. maybe the muffs and some heat packets in your gloves
might do the trick for you

I picked up a pair of ski gloves at our local sporting goods store for twenty bucks. Wind and water proof, work pretty good. Also got a face balaclava that is wind and waterproof that works well too. Fifteen bucks.................

I'm blurry on the subject too, but in S. LA I think "cold" is when it gets down below 50°.
