Kinda like: let's build something completely custom that no poser can buy and actually test it a little first.
This is a good example of a true Custom and not a "bolt-together special."
Evidence: notice the two nice scooters in the background of pic 2 that seem to share a family heritage....
Good idea to shake the bugs out, the whole geometry of the suspension looks almost backwards from other leaf spring set-ups I've seen. Wonder how it rides?
I like the style they are going for, looks good in flat black/rust and it would look good polished and plated as well.

Just another case of someone trying way too hard to be cool or innovative. That front end looks like he pulled it out of a junk yard and just had to make it fit somewhere. Faucet handles have been done before, and again before that...they were cool the first few times. Now it just looks stupid. There's a difference between having talent and trying to outdo everyone else with trying to see how outrageous you can be.

Gump, take a good look at that front end in the pic you posted...
Is the axle not going thru the center of the main part of that front end, in a maner as to NOT have any play from the spring at all? Kinda looks to me like it was created with 3DSMAX, or MAYA. Now, that would be what I call a 'poser'.

LOL, a few of the other posts knock the OP's picture calling a total fabrication and such. Is that not what choppin is all about? FABRICATING what others would have to purchase because the only talent they have is all talk? Making use of what is on hand rather than buying a manufactured part? Sure it may have a brand spankin new S&S motor on it, but coulda been lifted from a 'real' biker's garage where it sat never collecting dust, or suffering from a dull shine, and only has 1200 miles on it since 2001! HEH!!!

Too industrial looking for me. Perfect case of something good (old school, bobber look) taken too far.

It's a Rat Rod bike and built that way on purpose. I doubt he has any plans for a more finished look, that's not the point The suspension is called a quarter eliptic. Never seen it on a bike before.

That's crazy. Not something I'd want, but I can appreciate the effort that went into it, and it's fun to examine and play "Hey, Is That A..."

More and more like this will be seen as the states continue to close the mental hospitals.

After extensive surfing the net for quarter elliptical suspension, I found a very interesting website:

http://www.jailhousechoppers.com/bikeshardtime1.html

Jailhouse Choppers Hardtime

I'm thinking that one is a "knock-off" design of the other. Question is, which came first?

Personally I prefer the Jailhouse Choppers Hardtime.
