If it's running rich it won't "hurt" anything if it's not correct right away....

Of course you will experience lower fuel economy and your engine could load up at idle or low RPM's causing plug fouling, but running a little rich is much better than running too lean.

Adjusting the pilot on the stock CV's is a pain, especially when compared to the Mikuni carbs which have the adjustment right on the side of the carb...

no NEED to pull carb off, just take fuel bowl off and have a look (4 screws) replace with allen head.
just pull bowl straight down a long tube will follow, you will need the right size screw driver for slow jet removel #42 45-46-48?
when installing fuel bowl make sure you install the pump rod on the carb!!
once in there you will say **** that was easy,i'am not scared anymore
good luck

the fuel bowl is on the under belly correct? in that case i think i'll need to pull the carb because my front exhaust pipe runs right across the front of my jugs. i think it might just be more work not to pull it...whatcha think??

another forum said my "float level in my carb" might be messed up, how would i check that and does it sound ligit?

cool, thanks rat, i gotta a feeling they are phillips so i'll see what i can do and if i get it off i'll replace with alans, i can see how much easier that would be while leavin the carb on the bike. i gotta tire commin this wensday so once i pull the wheel off to take it to someone to replace the tire i'll mess with it then, until then i'll just ride in sparingly for the next week, i'll let ya know how it works out

OldSchool, the stock jets for your bike are 42 & 175, but that's for a EPA lean mixture. With your A/C and exhaust, a 45 & 180 would be a safe bet as a starting point for what you should likely need now.

the bike had a screamin egale ham can and was re-jeted (i believe) for pipes that were 2 1/4" when i put on the new AC and smaller shorter pipes (2" pipe...probley 5-9" shorter w/ different type a homeade baffle)

so my guess is that the slow jet in it is probley bigger than stock...won't know till i go in though.

whats the deal with my float??? i've heard a few ppl mention that but no one has told me how to find out if its right or not...any ideas??

Oh and why would i go up in my main?? it seems that everything i have read that idle to almost 1/2 throttle is all the slow jet and that seems to be my only problem
