Went with the RWD led brake light/ turn signal/ license plate holer on my Road King and a similar set-up from Cycle Visons on my Street Glide. Both are bright as hell (not as bright as BrightAss) and they both have 5 flash deal when you apply the brakes. Not as cheap as just replacing the tailight but it really cleans up the *** end of the bike. I would like do throw one on my FXD but I built that one as a budget build. I still may do it, but I'm kinda happy with how it came back from the dead. Will see if I can dig up some pics of either the RWD or CV.
Ok guys I have decided on a smoked laydown style light, my question is with or without the plate light section? Any pros and cons to having or not having the plate light?
I dunno. My wife always tells me that she thinks the blue glow from the white led for the license plate light looks cool. I dont really see the big deal, but she is usually behind me so what do I know.
Guys,
Just in case you didn't know, The LED bulbs such as replacements for the 1156/1157, only work when they aim straight out the back. LEDs lose their brightness as you turn the bulb. Just be carefull to check it out under real conditions
From: Back in the Good Ole USA. South Carolina to be exact.
Had the kuryakin unit on my 94 FXDL, looked good, not really bright. Bought a kuryakin unit for my FXDF. The lens came apart. Got the HD TriBar. Totally satisfied. Great quality, bright. Be careful when you install it, some have broke the tabs on the lenses.
Got an LED lowprofile rear light in chrome effect with bullet hole effect leds..got it here in Sweden for the THIRD of the price of a Kuryakyn smoked lowprofile..looks a lot better toooooooooo : )

Sumpnut......who makes that? Do you know if it's available here in the US in a red laydown style lens with a license plate lamp?
The led light should be ok for the states even though its silver,in europe theyre tuff on the law and everything has to be *E* marked which this is.Can get away with it being silver because A)when the ignitions on the lights are red and B) We have to have a red reflector mounted on the rear so when your bikes parked up on the road at night other vehicles can spot you.
By the way the part number is 70-199 and costs 590 SEK thats about $86
