Default TC88 Heads on a TC96

I have a set of TC88 heads from one of my previous builds from a 2002 FXDWG3, ported, 1.94/1.6 valves etc, etc. I would like to use these on my 08 Street Glide, FLHX. I know the TC88 front head is different in that it doesn't have the milled/ tapped hole for the upper front engine mount. Anyone ever machined this in a older style head? Anyone use different brackets? What are my options other than porting my TC96 heads. Thanks.

Default heads

we`ve done the swap both ways,(earley on late, late on earley),putting the mounting hole isnt a big one,you will need to get a set of the earlier int. flanges

kirby, I know about the intake flanges being different. I guess I will have to have my BIL set the head up in a CNC mill and face it off, drill and tap. Or sell these for $400 and invest another $400 and have my TC 96 heads ported and buy new springs, valves etc. It's never easy .

02 heads would have to be welded first I believe they started putting the bolt bosses in them 06-07.

I drill and tap them, there have been photos on this forum posted, posters name is "Mopar" I think. They come out perfect. The earlier castings will need a spacer bushing made too as there are fins where the later casting have solid material.

We have established the machined pads/mounting holes for those late model front heads.
Never drew up a print on 'em, as we use the dimensions from the exiting head. Not hard, just takes a little time, and care.

Gotta agree with Kirby on that.
CNC's aren't need on most 1-2 pc jobs, as long as you know what the hell you doing.
