I agree it isn't a 2010 issue. My 06 fuel gauge isn't very accurate after somewhere around a gallon is used. Mine shows I'm running on fumes after about 100 miles and still have almost 2 gallons left.

Yes the guage can be re-calibrated. It involves removing the float assy and bending the float arm. Your dealer can do it and should cover it under warranty.[B] The downside is: none of the HD, tank mounted fuel guages are all that accurate. [/B]It's best to set the trip meter at every fill up, and ride for 150 miles, then start looking for a gas station.

Judging from the replies, nobody cares enough to complain and demand from Harley that they give us a bike for $18,000. to $24,000 that actually works in every way. I'm sure that someone from the company watches these sites too, and if you don't care, they don't care. My 02 Night Train gas gauge worked perfect so why shouldn't the rest of them work too? Start bitchin and demand what you paid for. I know I will.

No kidding, this is just wrong.
Both the fuel gauge and the remaining miles are off by a gallon and a half.
I would think that Harley would fix this, I mean honestly the self canceling turn signals work better.

Just a note on odometer, make sure you know what kind of mileage you get for the riding you're doing. I've been riding to work which is about a 10-15 minute ride each way. I put 4.3 gallons in today with only about 130 miles on the odometer. If I go on a longer ride with freeway riding I can push 200 miles and put the same amount in the tank. My gas light usually comes on with between 1 and 1.5 gallons left in the tank. For what yours seems to be doing, I would have the dealer adjust it under warranty. Then ride and see what you're putting in the tank when it gets low and what mileage that results in.

I don't put a lot into that guage either. I just depend on the low fuel light (comes on with about 1 gallon left) and the 'r' odometer is a nice feature. It also seems to work well. It calculates how you're riding and seems to be pretty accurate. I don't even like where the guage is located. Should be in the speedo cluster.
