Default CVO 110 Oil Leak

I have an 09 ultra cvo that just developed an oil leak that appears to be coming from behind the oil filter...not the filter itself but from the wedge (for want of a better term) where the oil cooler hoses are attached. Anyone experience this problem?? Bike has 14,000km. Also, anyone experiencing pinging when cranking the throttle hard between 2500-4000rpm??Had sert, high flow filter and pipes changed. Shows improvement but not entirely gone.

Concerning the oil leak - I just had my bike in (11,500 miles) for a leak. It was the gasket for the oil cooler. The dealer fixed it, got HD Milwaukee to approve it as warranty (no charge) without me even asking.

Good luck!

A friend of mine has an 09 CVO that has been into the shop 4 times now for oil leaks in the oilcooler/oil filter area. He has approximately 17,000 miles on the machine. The thing is leaking again at this time.

Both he and another riding buddy, who also has an 09 CVO have been experiencing performance problems with the motr in the form of pings and rattles on acceleration and under load. The local dealer pulled the ECM's and sent them to H-D where the mapping was changed. Now they appear to be worse than before. The dealer has recorded data off the motors to verify the problem and sent the data into H-D. H-D has responded by saying there is nothing more than can do! Both of my riding buddies are getting very frustrated, as you can imagine. The local dealer appears to be backing away as well. They both had their front tires replaced "under warranty" due to excessive cupping at about 7,000 miles. One has had problems with the XM radio as well. H-D has to replace the module to fix this problem.

The boys are writting letters to H-D and a copy to the dealer letting them know that they did not pay $30K for a machine that has these kinds of problems. If they had purchased a car they could have gotten their moneuy back, but the "lemon law" in our state does not cover motorcycles. I hate to say it but the next step looks like a court room.

You are not alone others have the same or similar problems.
