Now the stock HD Dunlops wear out quicker then I like the Dunlop Elite 3's are fantastic and have worn longer then any tire I had on the wing or the ultra. The only good thing for a wing is that you don't have to worry about the rear wheel not being aligned properly as it bolts on like a car and can not be out of alignment where a Harley could be and can contribute to tire wear,
Thanks for all the replies. As far as Harley alignment, the rear axle with the epiliptical washers makes it impossible to misalign the rear tire if the rest of the bike is in alignment.

My buddy, btw, weighs in excess of 300 lbs. I'm 170. A Gold Wing weighs more than my '06, but I have no idea what the rear tire weight would be. I do know that I easily got 16,000 on the rear Elite II's on my '84 Venture with a V-4 engine.

It seems like the thread is being hijacked by me, but it all started with a response that I felt needed responding to in this thread. Sorry if anyone is upset

The good ol' American vs import product argument continues to blur everywhere. I should have waited to make my earlier response until Dunlop had "almost" answered my question (very promptly) about why only the models Harley used were noted as made in the U.S.A. whereas their high performance models did not say that on their official website. Also asked does U.S.A. actually mean the United States in their product line.

OK, I am otta this thread before somebody else adds me to their ignore list today for facts not agreeing with opinion!!! I Appreciate your patience and hope somebody found the responses about Goodyear/Dunlop/Kelly/foreign/domestic relationship interesting. I did as a big fan of Dunlop on my cars since 1975, but not on my bike. (last sentence is IMHO)

John,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us with your Dunlop motorcycle
tire questions. Roughly 50% of the Dunlop motorcycle tire models sold in
North American are produced domestically while the other half are imported
from overseas.

A good friend of mine just replaced the rear tire on his 2007 FLHTCUI, 22,000 miles. I've known this guy since before he bought his UC, it's 100% stock and dealer serviced but I told him no one is going to believe him when he tells them his mileage.
