same "shorter" ad in my local paper for a few days, gave an email addy instead of a phone number. I just smiled and moved on.

I had a reply to my craigslist add last week. Guy ask about my stuff via e-mail, said we have to communicate through the deaf operator. Red flag goes up, next e-mail ask for my number and address. I sent him the addy and # to the local PD. I don't know what happened, haven't heard from him since.

I like to email them from a gmail addy I use for such things. I look up the Police Dept address for the city listed and tell them I live right by the bike (giving the address) and want to swing by after work.
My favorites are the emails where they say they're a banker/lawyer/politician from whatthefukkistan and want to smuggle money out via me. I email back, "Wow, what a coincidence! My uncle is the deputy director of the secret police in whatthefukkistan and can probably help us out. I forwarded your email to him and he says he'll get in touch Wednesday

Pretty Funny! The bike is sitting at JT Motors in Springfield, MO with a price of $13,950. Andrew Hilbert (if that's his real name) is the one who posted the ad in the paper. I offered to go to St Peters, MO where the bike was, and pay the $2930 cash that he was asking. All of a sudden he had 3 buyers ahead of me. How Ironic!
