Did the bikes have oil leaks when you bought them or any signs of oil leaks??

When I bought the low rider I didn't buy any warranty and then several dollars later after fixing the shift shaft seal and break switch I said I wouldn't do that again. I just bought an 07 Ultra (8900 miles) and in the garage today was a puddle of oil underneath it.
What gives, I am real disappointed in Harley quality. Back in 1996 I bought a 1984 Honda V45 Magna and never had an oil leak. In fact, I have never had an oil leak on a motorcycle except for these two HDs. If I am going to chase oil leaks for the all of eternity then I might be switching to VTX's and a Goldwing.
Guys don't be so sure they all never leak. My deluxe has a leak right now, and it is the engine cases. (verified at a dealership this last week) And guess what, I get to pay for it. It is out of warranty. So I am not real pleased to spend $1000 to fix it. But I guess such is life. To me it is an excuse to do a 103 upgrade, but rest assured it does happen.
Had a leak out of my '09 Ultra with 10K miles a couple of weeks ago. It was the Primary Seal which HD warrantied it. Guess some are lucky and some aren't...What could you do about it ?. Gotta pay the price if you wanna ride. *grin*
Join the club. The name Ultra Classic should tell us something....Classic Technology. Seems the mood in Milwaukee has been for more cubes, more cubes, more cubes! Should have been Quality, Quality, Quality. Fuel Injection is about the biggest leap Harley has made since the the 80's, and I am sure if the EPA didnt exist they would still be using carbs.
Wow. I'm surprised at some of the responses here. So much for being able to vent without the chance of some clowns ripping you apart. For those who believe that some Harley's don't leak oil then I have some ocean front property to sell you in Tenn.
