Default Too Tall Rider help

I am 6'5" and ride an 08 RKC. Am looking for some advice on handlebar change out and moving floorboards forward. I have seen an Arlen Ness floorboard extender the moves them forward 2". Any advise would be great! Thanks for the helpMike

I'm 6'6" and switched to the "heritage style" bars for my '09 RKC and am very happy with them-really helped with my riding position. No cable changes needed by the way, which helps the wallet! I'm pretty sure I'm going to get the Kuryakyn floorboard extenders-moves them out and forward one inch. hope this helps!

Mike, Im tall as well. I used an HD ralleyrunner seat (down and back). HD Tallboy handlebars ( up and foward). I also bought the HD "D" shaped "extended" (1" foward) floor boards and the Harley Goodies 1" outward spacers for the floor boards. NOW Im comfy!!!

Thanks for the info guys. I've been on a buddy's RK with Heritage bars and they still don't feel right. I need something a bit higher and wider. Something along the line of a beach bar width but mini ape height. The seat change sounds good but trying to save the cash and not replace a new seat.

I wear 37" inseam pants & have arms to match.
I just couldn't get the footboards comfortable.
My knees still stuck way up above the gas tank.
So I went to a Mustang solo seat (that moved me back an inch or two),
switched to 9" extended forward controls, and added 16" Wild 1 apes.
Now I feel more like I'm sitting in the bike than on it.
My sig pic shows how it fits me now.

I'm guessing I could add the Ness 2" extensions on the floorboard and the Goodies 1" outward spacers in tandem and really get the boards moved out. Sounds like some great leg room finally.

The bike looks great. I like the idea of the floorboards from a comfort factor though. I know Mustang is a great seat, had one on an 03 Heritage Classic. Thanks for the input. Too many options without being able to sit on all of them......

I'm 6'1" and I love my mini apes, they're 12.5" buffalo bars... I have a friend that's about 6'5" or more, and he looks very proportionate on my bike...

As for the floor boards, I even thought about moving them up/out, but I also found the thrill of riding roads like the dragon, and didn't want to move them out because they'd start scrapin sooner, and as for moving them forward, I ended up liking the location of my highway pegs, I can rest a heal on the boards, w/ the toe/ball of foot on the pegs, and still get to brake fast, or I can just put my feet all the way up on the pegs if I want, this gives me a variety of comfortable riding positions, and may be worth a try...

More pics in my profile if you want a closer look

About 2 weeks ago I moved my floorboards out 1" and forward 3" using both the Kuryakyn extenders and the H-D 2" forward floorboards. I don't see any reason I couldn't also add the other style mounts to go out farther but am going to see how often I scrape on corners. So far I haven't.

At your height get some 16" apes and floorboard extensions and new brackets that move them forward. Harley also makes the extended floorboard pans and I think they fit your bike. Let me know if you need a part number and I'll dig it up for you.
