What is the SE EFI kit? You mean the SE hi-flo air cleaner?

everything I read ,says ecu only needs a remap if you wan,t to bring the rpms up higher.that it will adjust for a/c and exhaust.but you don,t get everything out of the changes unless you remap.because the rev limiter needs to be reset at a higher level

YES FOR SURE! if you are going to pay for that you may as well get a tuner... let the tuner debate start...

You probably do need a tuner of some sort. I have V&H fuel pak and straight shot slip ons. feels like more power, and mileage on last 2k mile trip averaged 50mpg, with some tanks coming in as high as 55mpg.

If you're talking about a SE intake with the Rush slip ons, then yes, you most certainly need a remap!. If you use SE pipes and SE intake, then you do not. The map setting only remains good if ONLY the SE pipes and intake are utilized together. Change up one or the other, you have to remap.. Your set up is pretty lean with what you have now.

Huh?
Even the stock mapping is lacking. It's too lean down low, and too fat up top. Why would you want to raise the rev limiter on a motor that stops building power long before the rev limiter kicks in?
Proper mapping improves efficiency, which improves power, the power curve, and fuel mileage.
