Have a question about the EITMS. I was riding this weekend in 100 deg weather here in Tx and hit some stop and go traffic. The EITMS has engaged several times and it never stalled on me, well this time it did and a puff of smoke came out the A/C and it died. I pushed it off the road and let it cool for a min then fired it back up. I rode back home 100 plus miles with no issues.
Today I hooked the computer up the PC-V to adjust the 0% columns of 750, 100 and 1250, I adjusted them to +5.
I let the bike idle to get it warm and the EITMS kicked in at 290 deg but the temps kept rising over 310.
I thought that by shutting down the rear cylinder it would cool it down some?
Did I misinterpret something or is there something wrong with my EITMS?
It definitely went into EITMS mode but it sure didnt help the temps.
I'm not tech expert, but I bet the temp sensor is near the front cylinder which is still running versus the rear cylinder which is not. Thus the heat appears to be headed up, but the overall engine temp is headed down. Just a guess, I know just enough to make me a real mechanics nightmare.
wow thats hoTTTTT what is your humidity like there??
i also have a 09 it is hot here all the time but the humidity is real low. i wonder if thats why we have the same bike that runs different?
my temps are 230 max while moving, eaven when we hit 115 here. and 240 while stopped in trafic
