As far as weight goes, the difference has to be minimal. I didn't weigh them but they were much lighter than I had expected. The brackets are ABS plastic and weigh nothing. Most of the weight from speakers are in the magnet and the magnets are far smaller than you would think. You might be able to tell that from the pics but I'm not sure.
Thanks, please realize that I have don't have a dog in this hunt (i.e., I don't make or sell any speakers or rings ). I'd love it if someone would make a system that was affordable, reliable and killer sounding. I don't think that system has been invented yet -- everything is a compromise.

People are all excited about these speakers and they may be just great, but no one's offered any hard numbers in terms of audio performance ratings that I've read. Just a lot of "I love my new speakers!", which is typical for anyone going away from stock.

Another impressive part of this setup is that I have a light and responsive front end again. With the much heavier Alpines the weight in the fairing would pull hard in low speed, tight manuevers
I really have a hard time swallowing this one. You must be able to sense a weight imbalance when a bug gets smashed on your fairing. When I installed the 6.5" Polk MM651 speakers, I couldn't believe how lightweight they were (or seemed). The have a carbon basket and Neodymium magnet. The setup was actually 1.1 lbs heavier than the stock speakers and rings per side. Throw in some Dynexorb and you're over 2 lbs. On a 900 lb bike, I doubt Heller Keller could feel 2 lbs difference in the bars.

I don't have a dog in this fight either. I offered to test these speakers and give my opinion. That's all I did. I'm not comparing to anything other than the other set ups I had on my other bike. I'm not saying the Arc components suck because I've never heard them and I don't know how anyone can say these do If they havn't even heard them yet.

The only reason I would want an amp on a bike would be for volume and clarity and these do both for me. The speakers might be expensive but still cheaper if I don't need an amp.

In closing if I had found these six sets of speakers ago I wouldn't have had to volunteer to test these as I would have already had what I wanted and saved myself some serious coin.

Are you not happy with the mini and 6.5's? I have the mini and 5.25's and talking to Firecap about going up to the 6.5's. Is there something that is not good enough or loud enough with the 6.5's?

Shawn is shipping these for $235 total. Plus you get a free t-shirt.
