New brake bracket I made to straighten out the brake rod:

Here's the engine all assembled and ready for installation. I now have some of the wiring

marked and I know where the oil lines go on the oil tank (also marked).

Thanks for the compliment Joe, means alot coming from you.

Update:
Absolutely nothing done. I spent the day getting my Mom's garage cleaned out and prepping it for a garage sale next weekend and I also am going to my company owners bachelor party next Saturday. It doesn't look like I'll be getting much done next week either.

We're getting busier at work also so it looks like this may turn into another winter project.

Thanks for the interest guys!

Update:
Just before the snow started flying the bike got shipped out to my Father-in-laws garage for wiring. They are currently in Florida until the end of the month. I'm pretty sure I'll get it back before summer.

I'm pretty sure I'll need to get an ignition module for this engine. I found a SE out of a 1340 and another out of an 883 but I don't think either one will work.

I'll have more updates when it comes back home.

Reading your thread reminds me of just how much work a chop can be. What grit did you finish out at with the aluminum? I know Mud and a lotta guys like the satin-industrial look, but if you like, you can take it on out to look like chrome too.
You're past the design point, but have you ever read "The Horse" magazine? It's bobjob sportster heaven there, and you can glean a lot of ideas, color schemes and the like.

Just to give you an idea, this was a piece of aluminum 1/2" plate stock, mill finish, about 2 or so hours ago:

I always seem to rush a bit and a few imperfections can be seen because of it, or because of limited tools. Often the orbitals ball up stuff and make little circle scratches and I don't have jewelers rouge for a full mirror finish coat:

Just wanted to give you an idea - I'm not saying it's not a lot of work to do a bike engine. It really is, but you said snow...
