The H-D catalog offers a black detachable one piece sissy bar upright (part #51161-10). The only problem is the catalog states it only fits the 2010 Fat Bob. I've called several dealerships but they have not installed any yet. Has anyone put this part on a 2009 or earlier Fat Bob? I did not think they changed anything with the 2010's besides the 5th gear.
Actually, I was in the dealer looking at the 2010 WG rear fender and we found out that the frame part number for 2010 FXDF is different than 08-09. I have no idea what they changed on the frame, it could be a simple thing or it could be strut rail dimensions. No way to tell until someone does the research.
09 Fatbob here......just put that sissybar on yesterday...fits and looks great. The docking hardware they recommend in the description will leave you 2 bolts short, literally. At least I had to come up with two longer bolts on the backend. I had some lying around so it was no problem and took about 15 total minutes to put the whole thing on. May want to ask them about that if you plan on buying it. As far as the light relocation kit....you don't need it. If I could figure out how to post a pic I would. I could email you a pic or two....
Any pics, and #'s for the 2010 sissy bar on an 09???
Thurman, anyone?
I find it amazing that HD would put out a product and have a "Grab Bag" mentality.
This is utterly a **** poor direction for this company.
sissybar part #51161-10 fits perfectly on the 09 Fatbob. Use the 54097-10 docking hardware but keep in mind I bought it...got home and realized I was 2 long bolts short and had to come up with them. I dont know if the kit was short or the wrong kit...i had already driven home and wasnt going back. I had the bolts so everything worked out.

Im not saying it to you Thurman to be insulting, im saying it as an insult to HD, for dumbing down their R&D dept.

Thanks for the pics Thurman. Did you have any problem installing the sissy bar. My buddy tried to put one on his Low Rider and the tire got in the way? Did you have to drill holes or did it replace existing holes? Your bike looks good. Thanks again.
