That is just inside of the city limits not the surrounding county and other city's. It appears everyone was able to traverse around MB in the spring no problem.

Screw MB - there are so many other events to go to rather than worry about where or where not to go if you are a biker in MB. The city screwed up and I am sure their local businesses have lost lots of money as a result.

I don't want to be negative but it will take a lot for me and many of my friends to go back to a MB bike week.

The name Myrtle Beach is kind of tricky. I mean... when they say Myrtle Beach they are referring to Mytrle Beach proper. It is actually a small city that truly only had like 1 thing going on there anyway. That was broadway at the beach. North Myrtle is a totally different city that still embraces Bike Week. So does all the circling cities. So there are plenty of things going on around "Myrtle Beach". I will be there but who really cares right. The way i see it is why let a couple people screw a great thing. Yea i live close. But who cares. At one point Daytona tried to shut down bike week long ago. But people still went and it is stong as ever. Give the Mayor of Myrtle Beach the finger and let him watch his area suffer while the cities beside it bask in the glow of bikers cash!

Just my opinion.

Default Myrtlewood Villas

I have heard some great things about Myrtlewood Villas, but just wanted to ask to see if anyone here has stayed there? Any thoughts or reviews?

Myrtle Beach is indeed not a good place for bikers. The CHDDA has moved to New Bern in the spring because of the position that MB has taken regarding bike week(s) (all motorcycle riders are now required to wear a helmet). North Myrtle Beach is a different story. However, loss of the CHDDA is a real problem for Myrtle Beach. Maggie Valley still welcomes the CHDDA in the fall.

Most likely way out of my mom and pop motel budget, but then again. I don't stay anywhere bikers aren't welcome and MB has made that abuntantly clear to all.

OK, little confused on this...

"The CHDDA has moved to New Bern in the spring because of the position that MB has taken regarding bike week(s) (all motorcycle riders are now required to wear a helmet)"

So what is being said is that one of the big points is that MB is making riders wear helmets so they are moving to New Bern... were riders are required to not only wear helmets but they must be DOT approved on top of that.

Side note #1... MB helmet law has been turned over by the supreme court and removed. All people that received tickets have to be repaid fines and records expunged immediately.

Side note #2... Maggie Valley rocks!

I had a great time at the Grand Strand Rally this past spring. I'm planning to go back for the fall rally. We stayed in North Myrtle Beach and wouldn't spend one red cent in the city limits of MB. The areas north and south of MB welcome us and our bikes, just stay out of the MB city limits. I won't even stay there now when I'm in my cage. If they don't want me there on my bike, they don't deserve me at all.
