have you tried anything like a fuel injection system cleaner in your fuel? i use chevron techron plus in my fuel every few months, and it keeps the system clean as a whistle. i discovered this stuff (available at walmart) in the corvette forums, as my fuel gauge would cease functioning sometimes. it was the sulphur in the fuel coating the sending unit in the tanks. yes, it has two saddle tanks, a pain. but the fuel we have available to us ain't the greatest, and the techron plus cleans the system out. just a little bit though, not a whole bottle by any means. there are spray cleaners also which you could use for clearing out the iac and throttle body. just make sure it won't harm anything in the process. be sure you mask around everything else, you don't know what it'll do to painted surfaces.

sorry dude. my harley doesn't have saddle tanks, nor did i have troubles with the fuel sending unit. those issues were for my late model corvette. thought i better clear that up. but there are many types of safe throttle body cleaners out there, as well as fuel system cleaners too. i stumbled across the techron plus, and found it to be very suitable for my harley too. one bottle will treat 12 gallons, so about a third would do ya probably. it doesn't harm anything. be sure to use a funnel when installing, as i'm not sure as to how it would react to paint. i hope this is useful information for you.

Cool

Have you changed the plugs. my 07 UC did it and it was the tips of the plugs were comming loose sending a code to the puter and making it die slowing down and then idle at about 500 after restarting. All only happened when it was hot. Had to go back to harley plugs till I can find some that the tip is permenatly attached.

When I gave it gas it didn't respond because it died again. On all three times it started right back up with no check engine light coming on. It has been dyno tuned with the pipes and breather that I have. It is not due for a service for another thousand miles. The only thing that I can think of is that I went from the High Flow Stage I to the Heavy Breather. I am running the High Flow Stage I breather bolts with the Heavy Breather that I put on myself. I found out later that I need to use stock breather bolts. Could this be the issue. I ran the breather since November this way and didn't have any problems until now. Does anyone know what else it could be? It seems to be some kind of air or fuel problem I would think due to the bike starting right back up.

not sure i understood that you did use your stock air cleaner bolts .but with the heavy breather you are supposed to use the stock ones .there was a post here a while back that had the same problem as you .and the bolts was the problem.hope this is helps

Default Mine was due to loose sensor wires

My '07 Ultra was occasionally stalling, idling high, and difficult to start when hot. It took awhile to find the problem - my local dealer didn't find it but on a road trip another one did. It was loose sensor wires that sit up between the heads. They give power to the O2 sensor system, so since they were loose, the onboard computer was not getting the information. The mechanic said the wires are a little too tight so they can pull off easily. He spliced on some extra wire to give it more slack. Runs fine now.

I have changed plugs, plug wires, air filter, cleaned IAC, and have ran injector cleaner in the gas. Just not sure what to do,still thinking it's a bad IAC. It had stalled out a couple of times before I shot the carb cleaner it to flush it out,now it just drops to a slow idle when this happens.

My 07 Ultra does the same thing. Sert, SE air cleaner and Rienhart slip on. Been to two different dealers several times...no help. When it starts acting up if I just stop for a short break (coffee, beer etc.) it clears up. Has happened several times 33,000 on the clock and it started early on. Just got a call from a friend who has a 07 SG. His has started doing it. You would think Harley could figure this out. It is dangerous. Had mine quit at very low speed while downshifting to make a turn. Leave ya hanging out there in the intersection with no power.

Had to go thru the frame cracking and overheating problems with my Goldwing..now this

My 06 SG started out with a slow idle and the stall when coming to a stop. I flushed out the IAC opening and it helped with the stalling but it still will idle down to around 600 rpm. There is no there is no method to the madness either, it'll be fine one day and then the next day do the same thing for 5-7 stops and then clear up again.
