Wanting to go 103" kit....need advice...
As an alternative, I'm thinking I could just put new cams in and forgo the 103 upgrade. I'm not unhappy with the performance I have now... I do a lot of 2-up riding, so a little extra torque and hp would be nice. Don't know if I'd get that much or not... can you help? Also, what kind of cams would you suggest to give me good power up to 4500 rpm.
My ride: 07 Ultra, SERT, SE A/C, SE II slipons.
If I had wanted more I sure wouldn't have stopped at 103" or 107".
Looked at several aftermarket options finally settled on this.....and I got a 180 warranty from my dealer.
Went with a Screaming Eagle 103" stage 4 Pro Race kit, 103" pistons and jugs, SE 260 cams, race clutch, High flow 110 heads with 2.120 valves and automatic compression releases, 10.5:1 forged pistons, new 58mm Billet throttle body, SE Pro Race Tuner, and High flow intake. Sent heads and jugs to Diamond heads for some bling!!
Installed by my Harley
shop....Cost for winter project $4500.00 with the diamond heads, 4K without. After some fine tuning, Dynoed at 114HP and 108 torque.....But most important it runs awesome! From around 3 grand to 7 it just pulls like a monster, and one added bonus, with the bigger TB and injectors combined with the cams, it has a lope to it like the old carb models....if I had it to do over again I WOULD definitely do it again. And one last topper I have put 7000 miles on it this summer and not a single hiccup. This set up is awesome and ya others may say use these parts...A+C+X+G= more time to mess with tuning, because they weren't designed together, now the stage 4 kit comes with everything and is designed together. Just my thoughts.....John
