Mine works great. Ride in the rain all the time and no problems. Vibration? Harleys vibrate?? No problems.....

Hey !
I've had mine for a year and so far it's been great. In Australia I paid $960 for it and it came with the weatherproof unit, handlebar mount, car-mount kit and the scala rider bolt-on style bluetooth headset.
I bought an extra headset for the little missus and we bluetoothed the lot together. So now the TimTam gets first precedence, then the phone, then the intercom. It's awesome getting a text message on the phone and trying to read it on the screen of the TimTam.
It's been in for repair once with the carmount breaking and the little door on the unit itself breaking off. Even though no-one is good at speaking English at the repair centre in Sydney and the fact that there is no easy way to talk to the repair folk, the issues were resolved in a week anyway ... which is amazing really considering the communication problems.
Other than that little hiccup, it's been a pleasure. With all the stuff that needs recharging at the end of the day now, I carry a 4 pin adapter board and now I have to stay at motels lol ... that's my excuse for getting old and soft hahaha, all that stuff NEEEDS recharging
Like it was said earlier, if you like the look of a road and feel adventurous, take the road .... the unit will recalculate. I find it really good when I go to find a motel or a restaurant and more than once it has saved my sorry **** with petrol issues, even though I also have a fuel gauge, I'm not always so clever to take notice of it

I've got the same problem...love the TomTom Rider II, but haven't figured out a way to use it without two headsets (I haven't really done that, but unless someone can interface the Ultra system with bluetooth, there seems to be no way to hear the commands unless you use 2 headsets. Anyone???

I have the Zumo 450 and love it. I'm not one of those riders who enjoys getting lost and saying "Getting there was half the fun". I can't tell you how many times we saw back roads that pop up on the GPS and we take them. You can't do that just riding and expect to get somewhere(dead ends or bad dirt roads). Finding restaurants, gas stations, and hotels is a breeze. Cheers to those who still do it the old fashion way though. Good riding all

Me and you both!! Garmin has the new 465t nuvi for truckers , it can be switched between truck routing and auto routing but to my knowledge they are not water proof! I talked a lot of smack about about GPS's before I got one , now I can't imagine life without it out on the road.

GPS enhances the wrong turn experience. Ignore the directions whenever you see a cool new road and the GPS will automatically recalculate your new route to your destination. You can do this all day and it will always point you home at the end of the day. I've found more new roads with the GPS than I ever knew without it.

Can the Tom Tom II be programmed for a specific route using a map program on a lap top? After owning Garmin for a number of years I’ll go back to paper before I give them another dime. Their customer service is terrible.
