New Tom Tom Rider II

I have an older Tom Tom ONE and it got me from Seattle to Dallas to Sacramento and back home with only two short wierd detours (new construction and an alleged shortcut through town). They're great units. Sounds like a good price too. Let us know what you think of it after using it for a while.

Ok, so I bought the rider when I had my metric cruiser and my question is regarding the bluetooth.
Is there any way to adapt this to the system on my Ultra so I dont need 2 headsets on the helmet?
Does Harley make a bluetooth adaptor for the factory intercom system?
BTW I love the Rider II, I just don't want to loose the voice side of it.

I've got the same problem...love the TomTom Rider II, but haven't figured out a way to use it without two headsets (I haven't really done that, but unless someone can interface the Ultra system with bluetooth, there seems to be no way to hear the commands unless you use 2 headsets. Anyone???

Well you should be retired by now, and hopefully on your trip. I've had a rider 2 for almost two years now, never go anywhere I need the Tom Tom ( or as we call it lost lost ) without a map. Mine has all of Europe on it, but the maps were out of date in Dec. 07 when I got it with 08 maps. As for the scala rider head set, I find it uncomfortable but you don't need sound. Just remember to carry a tooth pick or paper clip to re set it.

I don't know about the US or England but for Canadians looking at this POS, STAY AWAY. Their web site says that the Canadian mapstore is "closed for repairs" and has said this since the beginning of May, 2009. Customer service STINKS. They couldn't care less about answering questions etc. This means that you can purchase the NA maps, but you won't get any free updates that you should be entitled to. Never dealt with a worse group of people.
Maybe it's better for the US but it sucks big time for Canada.

I was just in Canada when I bought this thing. I needed the maps from Europe (I just moved to Poland) and, as you say, could not buy the maps from the Canada store. I opened an account with the TomTom site in the States using a friend's address and once it came time to pay for the maps, I used Paypal...no credit card required. Worked like a charm. I've used a Garmin and a TomTom in the vehicle and there are things about the TomTom that I like better...that's why there's one on the handlebar. Now if I could just hear the commands...but then again, it's not the end of the world. I can still watch.

I'm actually glad that you could at least get a value from it. One thing I liked about the TomTom was that I could very easily hear the voice commands on my Jawbone 2 headset. I had John Cleese's voice on the unit and pairing it to the Jawbone was very easy. Excellent sound and I'm sure that you can pair it to may other headsets as well.
Enjoy but I'll stick with my Zumo 660.

Actually, I found quite the opposite. I was travelling on my last trip. I needed to get to a particular town to get to my hotel but I saw an interesting road off the one I was travelling. I just took it and the gps recalculated my path to the hotel using that road. Otherwise I would never have had the nerve to just head off in that direction not knowing if I would ever get to my destination.
