You are correct about the head work. Guess my point was using adjustables for a simple cam change. Thanks for the info just the same,

AS far as the EV46 goes. I did waver back and forth on whether or not to use it. My reservation is based on experience as I have another evo(dyna) with a EV5 cam and a super "G" carb. Power out the whazoo but the vibration tears the bike apart, it's a real bone shaker!! BTW, it did 11:23 at 127mph in the quarter mile. Great bar hopper but you dont want to take a long trip on it...trust me I have.

One the other had the Heritage is a bit more a touring bike and I simply want to have a bit more humpf when doing expressway riding. NOthing worse then hitting the throttle and waiting for a response. I have a buddy that runs the EV3 and simular mods to wjhat I am planning and his bikes rocks. And what the hell. cam change is easy. I may wind up installting an EV46 after all. Hmm, It now comes to mind that I have a spare EV5 cam .

Mr Cody, what do you think of the EV5?

Well the bike can move judging by the 127MPH but I think you need to run it more and get used to racing as 127MPH should be more like a 10.25 or so. How was your 60 and RT? I would love ot see that sucker run as well. I had a chopper that did a 10.50 at 117 but my 60 sucked as it wouldn't hook up. We have test and tunes at the tracks in Cali on the weekends and I am planning on taking the bagger up in April and would be happy with an 11.50 or so...

Fulsac "True Dual Conversion kit.

Plus Cam bearing, Gaskets, Cam shims, etc.

Removing the heads for reworking. Total cost (less head work) $1100.00.

Looking forward to this project. Will post my progress (once parts arrive that is)

Thanks again Gents.
You don't really need the carb, as the CV will jet easily for this combo. I shaved my heads .050" - Got a little more heat from the boost in compression (Remedy=Oil Cooler).

But do pay attention to the Base gaskets. James Gaskets work much better than stock.
80,000+ miles on my Electra-Glide and still lifts the front end in two gears. Behaves well around town.

Good cam, but a little too much lift for in-town riding. Also, depending if your motor was built on a Monday morning or Friday afternoon it may require the springs to be bedded. I don't consider it a bolt-in cam.

a set up i use alot you a bunch of bike i do is put in a ev-13 andrews cam, rework the bowl on the carb and install a high flow accelerator pumpand re-jet the carb. still have the reliability, better throttle responce and cooler oil temps. simple, and low budget

Friend down the street has above on his evo FB, his is striped down, but it will keep up fairly good when mine was still Stg1, he's a little guy, about 1/2 the weight that I am,

Be careful, the performance bug bites hard.A little taste of it makes you want more.So many have tried to go a little at a time, the aftermarket loves it.Mine started with 45ci has now swelled to almost 4 times that.

if you've got a bone stock 94 evo then the simple stuff would get you on the right track. exhaust, air cleaner, and carb hop up. that would help. it's a big bang for the buck for now. it'll give you time to consider other things to do during the upcoming winter.

and branch flowmetrics, used to be jerry branches brainchild, still builds some killer heads for evos. that along with a cam, and you'd be doing just fine. that would not break the bank, but give you better torque and hp.

this thread is great seeing as my engine is getting pulled this winter. i have a s&s supper e carb, s&s intake and my shorty open pipes and i think its an absolute dog!! the pipes do nothing for me. i was gonna try getting torque cones but i think when the engine comes out im just gonna get a 2 into 1. but the cam is def getting changed, i just wasnt sure what i wanted. this is going to be a bar hopping street machine. well thats the plan any ways. i want a real radical cam but not to much that im going to break stuff. i want at least 120hp and 120ft/lbs. what cam do you recomend? if i dont get the numbers i want i am going to spray this thing with a 20 shot and hope for the best!!!lol
