I’ve owned a carborated bike in the past but not a fuel injected. I know I put a fuel injector cleaner in my truck every oil change and I’m wondering if I should do something like that with my bike?
FI is hardly a new concept. Gasoline has all the FI cleaners needed blended in it already. 75k miles on my bike and no FI cleaner ever used. Still runs like a top. I've got some old FI vehicles, too...'87, '90, and '94. I've never used FI cleaners in them and they all still run great.
With that said, you will likey claims of wonderment for Lucas, Seafoam, Marvel Mystery Oil and the rest of the miracles in a can. Guys use 'em and have never had a problem, so it must work...right?...LOL.
thanks for the advice. It's always been my philosophy that if something is proven to work or not but will not hurt and doesn’t cost a bunch I’m going to use it just in case. It helps keep that area of my paranoia in check LOL. tibadoe, I have a deuce which means my tank is 4.5 gal. What type of cleaner do you use?
Virtually all major brands have some sort of "cleaning" additives so in general FI cleaner is not needed unless your experiencing issues (load of bad gas). Then its usually easier to take the injectors out and clean them.

TECHRON
Don't care what anyone says. It works. My 07 FXDWG that has always been run on Brand name [ well except when I forget to watch the LED guage] .
I run a tad of Tech. thru it.
Big diff. 2500 miles [she was a left over]
cars and trucks tend to get used more then bikes so the gas sits in the fuel system longer and tends to gum things up. any fuel system cleaner will help keep the injectors clean. Seafoam, is one I've used that helps my old wing keep going, stp or techron even store brand stuff seems to do the job.,,
I was always a big techron fan but have since discovered redline SI-1 fuel systems cleaner. It is 100% gasoline detergent and contains no solvents that can be hard on engine bearings. I use it in my bike once a year. One $8 bottle treats 100 gallons of gas. It also has no ill effects on 02 sensors or any sensors in your engine intake system.
