Default Road King question
A buddy of mine has an 01 RK. When he turns the key on the lights blink 3-4 times. He never noticed it till I said something. Does anyone know why or what this means? He's fairly certain he doesn't have an alarm.

no he doesn't have an alarm, but he does have a security system. you know that big plastic round thing that he has his keys on? thats the fob......

No Fob, bought is used from a dealer. Next....

Could a fob possibly be mounted to the bike somewhere that he isnt aware of?

oh and I counted last night it blinks 6 times. Our bikes are the same year. I have a "security system", so I would assume they work similar. My bike doesn't blink.

RK and EG must be different in this respect then. If yours does the same then he must have security. Sucks he has no key fob. Thanks.

The bike shouldn't start without the fob, unless it's overridden by a code.

My road king does it and also has security. If you dont have your fob you can overide with a PIN number. Maybe its set to overide with that somehow.

On a 2001 we don't have the fob that works off proximity. We actually have to press a button and hold it to activate and double click to deactivate.
