for pure performance, everything I have read both here and elsewhere and been told by local go fast guys is that 2 into 1 is the way to go. I personally don't like the look and don't care that much about the little performance difference, so I'm gonna keep my stock headers and just go with the fuelmoto setup. I'd like true duals for the heat reduction, but I think with the remapping of the pcv, and my heat deflectors I'll be happy.

So far all I have done is V&H Slip-ons & the Xied's. I was just wondering if I put true duals on with what I have, will I loose toruqe?

Johnnyp, according to my experience you sure wouldn't gain anything with the TD setup. I have them on mine, while I like the looks, my performance has not been worth the money(cam, AC and SERT).

what he said!
Went from TDs to Bub7 2-1, bike ran much better, fuel mileage increased and the bike ran much cooler. The tuning change was very simple as well, new PCV map from FM and back on the road.

Thanks John K,that is the exact info I was looking for. I know they look awesome, but I would prefer gaining a bit of torque instead of loosing some. I have been looking at the Cobra 2 into 1 and since I have had good experiences with Cobra pipes on 2 different bikes I think they will be the best bang for my buck. Anyone out there using this exhaust system?

I have true duals and like them but I haven’t seen any heat reduction. Indeed, they throw a lot more heat on the left side. I think the Samson pipes might be cooler as they are ceramic coated inside and out. My V&H duals just have ceramic coated heat shields.

Ok so basically I should get less heat with a 2-1 and a PCIII/V correct?

I recently fitted an S&S motor in my old Glide and wrote to S&S to ask what systems they recommend. True duals was one option (which I wanted to hear!) and I have Samson pipes with S&S oval mufflers. On the dyno my horse-power and torque are very close to spec (I have 102HP and 103TQ).

So while a 2-into-1 pipe is claimed to give the best performance, I think any real difference is likely to be small. Very few of us will ever spend the time on a dyno to get the last ounce of performance out of our bikes! I suggest you go with the one you would most like to have.

I just put Vance and Hines Dresser Duals. All I can say is WOW. I already had a SERT and SE A/C and SE slip ons. I did not get it re-dynoed. Seems to have more seat of the pants power. Sounds good too.....
