I agree, it should be a reason to ride and pick it up. However, with so many folks heading towards Sturigs I thought this might be an easy relay without one person going hundreds of miles off route while heading to a rally the size of Sturgis.

I made contact, and arranged to meet for an exchange.... if you want it??? that is how to "Get'er Done!".

Two members have created Frappr maps (I have included those links here) if we all get proactive, the mascot wouldn't sit anywhere for more than a few days instead of weeks, as it seems to do now.... I thought the idea of the Mascot..is to provide members with a REASON for a road trip ??? Not to wait for it come to them??? Are we missing the point, or is it just me ??

Ok, I'm finished venting....Happy Riding, and I hope everyone gets the mascot to their special ride and/or function. Because it is really cool when that happens. (4th Annual Southwest HDForums Rally and Green Chili Run {Rio Grande Gorge})

Call 'em Crapper maps, because the work like crap. LOL Both are broke diks. As far as the mascot goes, I might be out in Salt Lk City towards the end of August, say around the 25th or so, then will be heading back to Ohio directly. At that point I'll be facing a near 1800 mile ride so diverting much might be difficult. But we can talk....

I'm in SLC and unemployed right now. I'd be glad to take it wherever needed.

hey dr, ever rode from SLC to Denver via 40/36? Was thinking about taking that route but seeing the elevations was wondering about the weather and animals I might encounter. Any thoughts?

Typical Colorado weather this time of year is warm in the hills(80 - 90 with 40 - 50 at night) and hot on the plains(90's Front Range, 90-100 Western Slope). Depending on your exact route you can expect some sheep, goat, deer, elk and possibly moose. If you are coming through RMNational Park, elk are a given... through the Grand Lake area (hwy34/40) or Cameron Pass (HWY 14) moose. Be prepared for thunderstorms at anytime - the weather has been a bit unpredictable. If you are interested in the mascot let us know. We could meet you in Estes Park.

The critters tend to stay off the road though you will want to watch in the morning and at twilight. I've never seen a grizzly - sorry! but black bears are not uncommon in and around any food source - dumpsters, open doors - the easier the better for them. Let us know when you are coming through. If it is a weekend we can meet you anywhere along your path.

DD, I have been talking and it might be around 8/25 before we leave for SLC. So it'll be around the 28th or 29th before I'd be able to pick it up. If'n you can pass it on before that I'll surely understand.
