I never, I say never, ride without motorcycle boots, Wesco or Harley.

I've taken off with my "street" shoes on a couple of times by accident, only to turn around before I hit the end of the street to go put my boots on. It just feels strange without the boots anymore.

My brother in law almost lost his foot riding with tennis shoes when he hit a dog and lost control,so I'll never ride without boots.

I've noticed a few companies make a riding shoe which is more like a high-top sneaker with better protection. That would definitely be more comfortable, especially when riding to work.

Just wanted to see what everyone else thought.

Riding boot?
Riding shoe?
or plain old sneakers?

oops, I suck at spelling. The poll should read "what type of footwear DO you use to ride? And it should say shoe, not show. So much for my college edge-u-ma-cation.

The first time they get the leg of their shorts full of bees will be the last time they wear shorts (that was in the 70s, but it's the same reason I quit wearing Henly shirts in the 90s).

The first time they drop their bike in front of everybody because they didn't have good traction or get half their foot ripped away from slow speed road rash.......they'll start wearing boots.

And it's been in the tripple digits here for a week......we still wear long pants and boots.

Uhhhhh.......I used to wear a shorty helmet, too.......till I ended up with a shattered jaw from a face plant in the back of a truck. Now I wear a modular helmet.....even in the states with no helmet law. I was surprised to learn that it's actually cooler with a full face with the tinted shield......but after I thought about it, it made sense.

ALWAYS boots, sometimes lace-up, sometimes flat-nose Harley boots but always boots. NEVER shorts.

Short trip to the store or to grab a bite to eat around the house, Shorts and shoes.
Longer rides, Boots with jeans. ( lace-up or slip-ons) Around Columbia SC temps can climb in to the 100s with 80 to 90 percent humidity, then I might wear cargo shorts with lace-up boots.
