Question Baffles or No Baffles

OK Im not running baffles at this second but I do have torque cones in the head pipes. I plan on getting a new exhaust this winter and was wondering if anyone out there had any thoughts on the differences between baffles or no baffles with torque cones. Also if anyone knows anybody in the whole southern california oldschool bobber scene, what are they running on custom bikes nowa days.

If you have torque cones, I wouldnt worry about baffles unless the man pulls up behind you and says you woke up his ex wife in the next county. Then you might consider it.

Who cares what is done on the west coast? Do what you think is right, and what looks and sounds good to you. Never lead, never follow. Ride your own Ride

Well you couldn't be more right about doing what you think but what do you think about BIG CITY THUNDER BAFFLES?

I have the Big City Baffles on my V&H big radius, and I get complements all the time.....they also have a loud bark to them.

Make it how you want it. You will be louder without baffles but have more low end torque with baffles. 6 of one half dozen of the other.

I did the washer trick on my Samsons. Maybe cost 3 bucks for hardware and then just weld them up and mount. Got rid of the annoying deacceleration noise and really helped the stumble off idle. Here is a pic.

I just put 2-1/4 Santee drags on my bike last month. I have a set of baffle rings in them. They cut down on the noise some, gave me better torque and they still sound great. Before anyone replies, yes I rejetted the carb.

I wonder this myself, I like the kind of raspy sound of mine, and I heard the BCT Makes them more deep sounding, but I dont rly wanna lose how loud they are now cause I always say "the louder the better' even if it gets us in trouble sometimes

About twice as loud, and it has a nice deep rumble.
