It'll be a matter of time before the Low Rider returns.

It took them 22 years to bring back the Fat Bob.

Maddghost......... Just so you are aware, My Daughter bought a 2006 Heritage Softail Classic in 2008. She wanted to put a Chrome Front End on it part number 46334-06 ...guess what, it's DISCONTINUED. Wanted to put a pre-2006 SE Stage II Dual Shorty pipes on it part number 80448-03.....DISCONTINUED. Wanted to put 29773-02B the 1450 Stage 1 EFI kit on it.......DISCONTINUED. Heck, they stopped making Chrome Triple Trees for Low Riders after 2005. So that's just a few examples of parts they've discontinued on models they're still selling. In my opinion they're not going to make accessory parts for bikes they dont make anymore, and once their stock is gone.... that's it ...forcing you to make do with what you have or upgrade to a newer bike. That's all I'm saying.

Hey, I understand. We were shocked to find you couldnt get a chrome front end for a 2006 Heritage!!! Found a Factory sealed complete Chrome front End a Dealer in Florida and found the pipes at a dealer in Oregon...cleaning out his old inventory. Ebay is great for finding discontinued, but factory sealed new parts. But once they're gone......that's it, or the price will be ridiculous because of short supply.
As you can see in my signature photo, I've got everything I wanted for my Low Rider, except for chrome calipers which I will get this winter. After that, I'll ride her til I physically cant. This gal is about to turn 60 yrs young , so my Jolly Green Dyna Machine will be the last bike I ever own.

I learned to ride when I was 29 yrs old on a Yamie 125 and after a year, graduated to a 250. Rode it 3 miles (round trip) 4 days a week back and forth to work back in the 70s when gas was expensive....and the lines were long if they even had gas in the stations to sell. Anyway, after that passed, I sold the bike and that was it until Hubby got his 2006 Heritage and I got my 2007 LR. Husband never rode any bike until 2006, and he's turning 69 this year!!! We're having the time of our life. When we cant handle them, we might give a serious look at the trike.

The 70's ya high school for me and do I recall Reaganomics being a factor in the gas shortage crysis / scam or no that was the 80's. well glad to know we are of kindred spirit, I'm a little sad my wife hates riding, will never own one according to her own testimony ,and she'll ride with me for an hour or two as long as I stick to the lakeshore and go 22 miles /hour max and buy her an ice-cream. But I love to ride and would easily ride 500 miles a day, for now i work but another 7 years and semi retirement I shall ride most of the montreal winters out in the southern states, hopefully and God willing. man I'm phsyced!

Sorry to hear she doesn't like to ride. Boy is she missing out. Wish the weather stayed decent for riding longer in Michigan. Damn winters are so long, as you well know. We're doing a week of riding along the Lake Superior & Lake Michigan shorelines. Our Daughter (who bought a Softail) is meeting us ( she's from Green Bay, WI ) and we plan to tour the Keweenaw Peninsula, head over to the Porcupine Mountains, then head east along US 2 to St. Ignace and Mackinaw City and the Big Mac Bridge. Fall is spectacular for seeing colors and is my favorite time to ride. Well, there's one good thing for you.....at least you dont have to buy her a bike and all the accessories. Hubby said the worst thing he ever did was buy me a bike and give me an accessory catalog!!! HA!! He was right too........

What a shame. I don't understand why, but it must be a drop in orders or because it was one of the most expensive of the Dyna's. I know it was a favorite amound the women folk because of the low seat height.
Anyway.....for those of you who have Low Riders, if you were planning on getting specific accessories for it, you better do it this year, before the parts supply for the Low Riders dry up and you wont be able to order them.

RIP Low Rider, sad to see you ride off into the sunset.
I met a guy who had a Low Rider at a party yesterday... man, I couldn't take my eyes off his bike! I never paid attention to this model before, but I probably would have bought one if one like his was on the floor.

Yea, I'm partial to my Low Rider, and the shorter gals really appreciated the low seat height, lower center of gravity, not being as heavy as the Softails, and more power & better handling overall than the Sporties.
Will have to wait to see what, if anything they'll come up with. But I wont be getting rid of my LR any time soon.
