Smile New Tom Tom Rider II

Got a new toy, a Tom Tom GPS. The last navigation device I had was a loran on my off-shore boat that would get you around a 1/4 mile from your destination, if you was lucky. This puppy will let you find a quarter you dropped. It's gonna take a while to figure it out, But man is it neat! ordered a blue tooth phone to go with the headset. I retire june 12th and start a 3 or 4 month everywhere trip. so it'll get a work out. Any hints any GPS owners can give me?

I agree with you this unit is great. My wife got me the first edition TT Rider for fathers day in 2007, this was the best gift. I did have a few problems with the first edition but the folks at TomTom have GREAT customer service and sent me two new units, both developed the same problem (it was a contact problem, and it would lose electrical connection), they fixed all the problems with the Rider II. TomTom sent me a new Rider II in April of this year, as I said Great customer service

I love my GPS and do not go any where with out it, a few of my friends have the Zumo and like it very much, it gets a lot of rave reviews on this site but I like my Rider II better than the Zumo.

Enjoy and ride safe.

Cool

GPS takes the fun out of getting some place. See more when you turn wrong. IMO.

Got it on-line from walmart $367.00 + shipping That's with the motorcycle mount with the quick connect and blue tooth for your helmet.

Not much for the gps but on a trip of 3-4 months everywhere ride I would keep the gps in the trunk or saddle bag and use only when necessary. Just ride and take plenty of time to check out stuff. Do not rush so you can enjoy the trip.

I carry a gps with me most of the time but seldom use it other than fuel/motels or attractions.
just my thoughts
Oh that is a good price for a gps.

Can Blue tooth hook up to any of the Tom Toms? I'm not sure which one we have, but I got a handlebar mount for it and sure would like to be able to hear it. It's one of the cheaper ones I'm sure, the wife got it free with these Coke rewards points.

I dunno , Mine came with the wireless reciever and mike for the helmet. You can hook up your phone for hands free thru the GPS also .If you know how it will give you traffic and weather updates for ahead of you.
