What about the whole checking the fluids for shavings and that kind of stuff?
1 plug has a magnet on it (primary I believe). if you want to check the other fluids for shavings, drain each hole into it's own container...then filter the oil through a coffee filter or a paint strainer filter...easy to see any particles!
and I can almost say that they are not checking for that stuff...they drain into a container and that's that! remember, these are not their bikes...they are paid by the svc hour. they are going to do it the quickest way to get the next bike in. in a 8 hour day, they could book 12 hours work time.
(I used to work in a body shop...trust me, it's all about the booking hours time vs time worked). that's how they make their money.
280 for a Deluxe and 308 for a FLHTC in O'Fallon Illinois both with sync. Fasteners torqued clutch pack adjusted stereo down load and more than just a fluid change it took about 3 1/2 hours to do I watched them do it they were doing more than just changing fluids. Big thing I got out of it is peace of mind.

you guys are lucky the dealership is a big freaking rip off they charge for everything and there expensive. what is all in the first maintenance it's basically a oil change isn't it??
Have you looked in the back of your OWNERS MANUAL to see exactly what is supposed to be done ?? I suggest reading the owners manual from front to back so you can learn some things about your scooter. It will be a big help in the long run.
Oh Ya! When the dealer works on your "new, under warranty" bike you are gonna get lubed all right. Unless there is a rod sticking out the side of the motor, I am not entirelly sure just what the hell they do cover. Anybody?
