Yes it is. And they are really great people to work with. I ordered one for me and my wife. Her's was a little small and they sent her another without charging shipping again.
If you have a $5 head get a $5 helmet. You will know once you wear it that it was worth the dough. I am big on comfortable helmets (if there is such a thing).
This helmet is so worth the bread it's just not funny. Mine is going on 3 years and I could not imagine wearing another brand/style.

I know what your saying but are the Head Trips safer then then a Vega or similar? I think the price tag has all to do with getting a small package in a DOT package, more costly to do. Now if you can tell me that the 170.00 Head Trip will protect me better then the 70.00 Vega, I will get one tomorrow. The mushroom thing doesn't bother me, but the Vega is a bit smaller then most DOTS, has a comfy liner & at 50-70.00, it's priced right. Now if it offers less protection then a Head Trip, well that sucks!
Sorry I have couple Vega helmets they are junky helmets. I just bought the fulmer ranger the other day for $25. The Vega helmet cost a little more and very cheap made helmet. I have many helmets and I will not bought any more Vegas.
I don't really know anything about Daytona Helmets, but I'm tempted to try them. I have a Nexl helmet and they went out of business. The only other I was interested in was Head Trip. Anybody else heard of these guys.
