lots of long range trips...he would have had to ride from Maine to Alaska and back like 5 times a year to put that kind of mileage on. I suppose if you didn't have to work and had the finances to be able to do such a thing but still like everyone says 1,000,000 on a single EVO hmmm just don't sound likely.

My buddy, Danny, has had at least 25 cycles, but not one HD.
I can only think of 2 cars I ever knew he owned.
The first one he never drove, I don't know what happened to it.
The second he inherited from his late fathers estate, he sold it within 6 months.
He always rode Goldwings, BMW's, Triumphs, anything with a motor that got him from point A to point B.
He says he's put over 100k on several.
He doesn't look at them as personal, it's just a machine to use 'till you use it up.
BUT... he also says you can't beat a big v-twin for cruising down the highway.
I agree.

MY AZZ hurtz, for some reason???? Any of you experiencing that??

Well, he DOES HAVE shocks on it. Bwahahaha
That's one helluva lot of 'seat' time, I don't care who you are.
I can remember times, when I felt like I had put on a 'million'.

This got my curiosity up. I am gonna call Sparky, and see what he has logged. In the close to 20 yrs I have known him, he has literally worn out, 5 HDs that I can remember.
He worked for Ma Bell, for eons. Spent every vacation minute he had, on the road. He retired a few years ago, and the scoot NEVER stops rolling for more than a few days here, a few days there. He's been to Alaska twice, that I know of, and EVERY state in the Union, twice, minimum, including Hawaii, and he and his 2 brothers, have been thru Mexico.
They think nothing of packing up, and heading to Fla, on a whim. Or New Mexico for a visit.
Another group that logs the clicks, is Donnie Smith, and his group. They pretty much run hot rod baggers. They will run down into Iowa, for breakfast, then home again. "Just a ride" they say.

Hal's has a video clip on their site now of him riding up to the dealership, and I found another video from a Milwaukee TV station showing the miles all 0's.
Dave Zien was a state senator for many years and rode his Harley everywhere, so he got paid expenses for a lot of those miles. His engine was rebuilt four times in the course of riding a million miles......about 250,000 miles per rebuild. Sounds like about one more rebuild than normally would be necessary for an Evo. I also found out he bought his bike one year to the day before I bought mine. So I still have a whole year to catch him in mileage.

Anyone who puts 1mil on 1 bike should be given a new one of their choice imo.

Can't say if he made it or not but here's some trivia for you. I helped Bobby at Bobby's Territorial HD in Yuma, AZ put his floorboards back on after Bobby installed a new engine for him when he came through here. Ok, so I started one bolt. I had the grease on my meathooks to prove it!

Dave & I have been friends for years and I've seen him riding in January in Northern WI many times. He'd think nothing of running out to Sturgis for a day or two, then to TX, Al, & home. Just plain loves being on the bike.
I don't know if the deal came together yet but he had mentioned that HD had offered him a new Ultra even up for the FXRT.

In an interview in 2003 the bike only had 580,000 on it so the last 420,000 has been done in 6 years at an average of 70,000 miles a year or 191.8 miles a day. If the odometer is off by as little as 2% he will need another 104.3 days to actually hit 1,000,000 miles. I smell a big fish story here. Or maybe a drill motor story.
