Default These Monster Ovals sound great!

I got my Vance and Hines Monster Ovals on my bike and took a ride today. They sound "Just Right". After replacing my stock headers with V&H dual dresser headers and changing the cams to SE211s, I found my Samson Ovals were much louder to the point of being obnoxiously loud. So I had to find a muffler that still gave a loud deep sound but not too loud. With my setup the Monsters are just right for me. They are deep sounding and give off a nice note while cruising. Anyone that says they aren't loud enough tell the owner of the parked car I road by today. Without trying I set off the alarm on the car. Took off in first gear and was just about to shift in to second when I hear the car alarm go off right after I passed by.

Here is a before (Samson Ovals) and after (Monster Ovals) pics.

Before - Samsons

And after (Monster Ovals)

Another shot of the Monsters

Nice report. I like what I've been seeing and reading about the MO's here on the forum. Great pictures too....those really are nice looking pipes.

I have been lusting mightily for a set of Monster Ovals. I currently have Vance and Hines Big Shot Duals and the longer they are on the bike the louder and harsher they sound. Really wears on me during long trips.

Your setup of Dresser Dual head pipes w/ Monster Ovals is just what I've been looking for I think. Plus they look friggin' AWESOME!!

I'm really liking mine as well... typical high quality V&H design and build!

Yes, I think with the dresser duals the Monsters are loud enough. Without the duals some people may not think they are loud enough. So if you want really loud pipes you may not like the Monsters. But with duals they are still loud. It depends on how loud you like.

+1 on the MOs! Much, much better than anything else I've heard.

My only problem with them is that they are LEO bait over here in Europe. They've gotten so **** about exhaust noise that I'm worried about my bike getting impounded on my big tour this summer. Can't wait to get back to the States we I know these pipes will be appreciated and adored by the masses!

I've loved the sound of My Monsters since I put them on! Nothing compares to them on the road!

Ride safe, Mike

I like the looks of the MO's too. I'm ready to pull the trigger on a set for my '09 Ultra, but I'm wondering if I can add just the pipes now, and wait to put on a PC-V and A/C for Fuel Moto after my 1,000 mile service?
