I sure wouldn't want to stay in any hotels where people put m/c's in the rooms. Sounds like real nice places. I do like others have said, ask if you can park under the walkway in front. 99.3427% of the time they don't have any problems with that. Also, make sure that your insurance policy is paid up.

I park it wherever I want, put the alarm on, and if someone wants to steal it, my insurance will take care of it.

The motorcycles will only fit in rooms with doors built to handicap status. That rules out the junky, sleazy motels for the most part. So you might have stayed in some hotel/motel that has had a motorcycle in the room. I am not as hard core as a few of my buddies. I have one that has made the statement that his motorcycle stays in the room before his wife will. Heard him say that with her standing there and she agreed. All these people that say it is insured so what, weren't around when the bikes weren't insured and were stolen all the time. I know someone who still has the title to a bike he had to finish paying for that was stolen back in the day. No insurance but still had a note. If it will fit--it goes in the room. If it will not fit, it is chained to something solid by the door if possible. But it will be chained. My motorcycle will be secured and I am willing to shoot anyone trying to steal it.

That was then and now is now. Insurance is required in most states.

I try to park outside my room or by the front door. The night clerk has always given permission. I lock the forks, ignition and set the alarm. If it is there in the morning, all the better. If not call the insurance company.

We were in Gulfport last year attending a George Thorogood concert. After the concert we grabbed some dinner then went for a ride along the beach highway. When we finally made it to the room (after midnight) most of the parking had been taken. As we were cruising the lot looking for a place to park we set off a half a dozen car alarms. Some old geezer came running out in his shorts with a cell phone and a gun. I couldn't help myself, I started laughing until I cried. I think this pissed him off more than the alarms..

I always try to park near the front door. I would ask the clerk for permission and they always gave it. I figure there is always someone on duty there. Lock it and set the alarm. That's about all you can do
I do this all the time. I've never had someone at the front desk deny me of parking under the awning at the main entrance. In addition I put on an audible disk lock, I dont know if I were to rely on a fork lock, one swift kick and its done.

You could also find the kid working the night shift in the valet area and slip him some cash.
