Used to work on Carbs ....... hated it, was a PITA!
I've had 2 EFI bikes in the last couple years and will swear by them.
Carbs are nice because you can tune the bike up, change jets and troubleshoot.

Had a Kawa Ninja with twin carbs, PITA to balance, so had a dealer do it for me. Many $$$$$$$. EFI is good, IMHO

Have two HD's and they both have carbs. I love them, once adjusted they pretty much stay that way. Reliable. Easy of repair if necessary, and relatively cheap to repair. Also easy to adjust to add ons.

EFI expensive from the start and only gets worst if something goes wrong. Not cheap to adjust, and I just don't trust computer control. (though I don't have any reason not to)
I do live at sea level which makes ideal conditions for a carb. so I'm probably a little bias.

I can't imagine going back to a carb myself, never have to worry about a choke and they are pretty dependable.

My fatboy was efi and what I did not like was the high idle did not sound like the typical harley sound low idle I love. Now my Streetglide is carburated it has the idles I really like it is more of a pian when cold but a hell of alot easier to fix if any problem arises. just my .02

It seems to me that EFI has proven itself to be dependable and very adaptable over the last decade or so. Just hit the key and go.

I don't know why, but I think carbs sound better. However, I will keep my EFI. All my previous bikes that had carbs ran like crap after riding semi-dirt roads - sucking in junk even with a filter. My EFI has yet to cause a problem in the same conditions.
