OK, see you dont understand here. When you send out your heads to get ported, they reform and CC the combustion chamber to the correct VOLUME for your pistons and cam choice. They also INSTALL and blueprint the correct springs, valves etc that will work best with your engine.

Just by you stating that SE heads can handle a "higher compression ratio", shows that you dont understand the fundamentals of what Im trying to discuss with you here. Heads dont "handle" higher or lower compression ratios, head chamber volume, combined with head gasket thickness and piston type, deck height etc, combine to give you total chamber volume/static compression ratio. Different cams require different static compression ratios(ie: chamber volume) to work their best. This is why you find a camshaft that has the powerband your looking for(ie: where you want the power for your riding), and then when you have picked out the camshaft you want, you then in turn get the correct pistons and have your heads reworked by a performance shop to set your heads up to work correctly with the camshaft you have chosen. They will ask you what type of pistons you have(dome or flat top and their CR)and then correctly port the intake and exhaust runners, cc and set combustion chamber volume, install the correct sized valves and springs(so your stock heads could be set to use .600 lift cams, .650 lift, .700 etc etc) so your stock heads will basically be set up EXACTLY to work with the cam you chose.

Take one my sets of heads on one of my Harley's for example. They are original OEM factory heads, they now handle a cam that has .650 of lift, they have 2.00" intake valves and 1.570" exhaust valves installed. Check this thread out:

Here are some pics of some stock heads completely reworked:

Are you seeing what Im saying? All you are doing is wasting an extra $700 for those heads when you can have all the work done to your stock heads. Buying SE heads, and then sending them out to be reworked is basically wasting money and you gain 0 performance by it.

I can see the CNC machine work in the port. You have a cnc machine, what brand are you using, what program to run the manchine?? Looks very nice with a welded port.

NTrat, I'm sure your knowledge in this feild is way more than mine, I have no experience in technical/mechanical stuff. So lets say I want to go for Andrews 54G cams, then I look into pistons & I choose Wiseco 103 forged flat top 9.6:1 & I give my heads & cylinders for porting & boring to match the cam/piston setup (hope im on the right track) what kind of power should I expect assuming I'm running CR 9.8:1

Yep found the specs earlier in the day. Good low to midrange power #'s. I would set compression between 10:1 and 10.5:1 Since its a mild cam all thats needed is a very basic port/valve job to make this cam perform its best. My recommendation would be something like NRHS's Stage 1 or Stage 2 light CNC portjob: http://www.nrhsperformance.com/headworktc.shtml a set of Cometic MLS .030 gaskets, and a set of 10.5:1 domed pistons(screaming eagle, wiseco, etc whatever is cheapest and available on your end). Adjustable pushrods w/collapsable pushrod tubes would round out last of the needed hardware. Would make for a nice easy bolt together package that will produce alot of nice low end grunt for your bike.

You can conservatively expect dyno queen #'s above SAE 100/110 (hp/tq) with this 103" setup with correct tuning. And the majority of the power will come on before 4000rpm's right where your gonna want it.

I agree with the above...I would caution you to keep compression at 10.0 if dubai is as hot as you say...I've had several high compression motors in low elevation/hot climates...and low compression is much more streetable!!!
